The policing philosophy of the Centerville Police Department combines traditional law enforcement with our total commitment to the community we serve. Our commitment to resolving community problems is most successfully addressed and resolved by working in close partnership with our community. The Centerville Police Department works with our community partners to develop programs that are responsive to the needs of all citizens. This joint effort leads to a greater awareness of our responsibilities to the many segments we serve within our society.
Biography Sidney B. Andrews, Jr., is Centerville's Chief of Police and oversees the operation of the entire department. Chief Andrews has over 11 years of law enforcement experience. Prior to his appointment to Chief of Police on September 15, 2009, Colonel Andrews was promoted to Assistant Chief in November 2008. Chief Andrews has served in various capacities within the department, including Patrol Commander and CID Commander. Chief Andrews was attached to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) as a task force agent from March 2004 until October 2006. Chief Andrews is also a Clandestine Laboratory Technician, SWAT Operator, Field-Training Officer, and Crime Scene Technician. Chief Andrews has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social and Criminal Justice from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. |
